João Manuel Pinto Tomé Santos, known as João Pinto or João Manuel Pinto (born May 26, 1973 in Carcavelos), is a retired Portuguese footballer who played as a central defender.
During his career, Pinto represented Clube Oriental de Lisboa, C.F. Os Belenenses, Futebol Clube do Porto and Sport Lisboa e Benfica, retiring in 2007 after abroad stints with Ciudad de Murcia (Spanish second level) and FC Sion (in the Swiss first division).
Used often as a last-minute centre forward when his teams were trailing (scored more than 10 overall goals for Porto), he appeared once for the Portuguese national team, coming on at half-time during the 1–1 friendly draw with England at Villa Park, on 7 September 2002.
